HelpDesk Sample Application
We are pleased to present the revamped Telerik HelpDesk. It is a sample web application that demonstrates the interoperability among various Telerik controls in a real-world scenario. The application simulates a contact management system, which is data-bound to a Microsoft SQL Server, to show how to build rich user interfaces with the responsiveness of desktop applications.
Highlights:
- Extensive use of all Telerik controls – HelpDesk illustrates how to combine our award-winning components to deliver elaborate UIs. You can view messages in a Grid, filtered by a selection from a Calendar, a Treeview, or a Combobox. HelpDesk also allows users to reply to or compose messages with a rich text editor opened in a separate window.
- All-out AJAX-based tool – The application simulates desktop-like user experience by ajaxifying all controls. Experience the power of Telerik’s AJAX framework and the built-in AJAX support in all RadControls. See the different modes of AJAX and learn how to use their full potential.
- Consistent look-and-feel – HelpDesk is a showcase of how to use Themes with RadControls to achieve consistent look of all components. It is shipped with 3 standard Themes which can be easily switched.
- Intuitive Outlook-like web interface.

The project still has a number of imperfections that we are addressing. Nonetheless, our desire is to have this project serve as a public test case for Telerik’s capabilities to deliver the most advanced ASP.NET toolset for development of rich web interfaces.
