All Components

Accessibility

The ComboBox is designed to be accessible by on-screen readers and provides full WAI-ARIA accessibility support.

WAI-ARIA Support

This is achieved by setting the aria-expanded, aria-selected, aria-disabled, aria-haspopup, aria-owns, aria-activedescendant and aria-hidden properties on the nested elements depending on the current state of the component and its options.

The component uses the listbox role. Each item from the popup list has an option role.

To move the focus to the current keyboard navigation position, the component uses the aria-activedescendant approach.

The ComboBox also follows the WAI-ARIA best practices for implementing the keyboard navigation for its component role and is tested against the popular screen readers.

Section 508

The ComboBox is compliant with the Section 508 requirements.

Limitations

The following limitations are related to the WAI-ARIA support of browsers and screen readers and not to the functionalities of the Kendo UI ComboBox for Angular 2.
