Telerik UI for Windows Phone by Progress

Thank you for choosing the gauge components for Windows Phone!

These components consist of circular and linear range and indicator types which allow users to easily visualize data.

This section defines important terms used in the rest of the help articles.

In order to use RadGauge for Windows Phone the following references are required:

  • Telerik.Windows.Core.dll
  • Telerik.Windows.Controls.Primitives.dll
  • Telerik.Windows.Controls.DataVisualization.dll

  • Arrow Indicators are simply arrows that point at some value in a value range. They are valid only in radial gauge ranges.
  • Segmented Indicators represent bar indicators that have one or more segments which may differ in color, width and relative length.
  • Bar Indicators represent simple bars that increase or decrease in length based on a value.
  • Marker Indicators represent points of special interest in a value range.
  • Label represents some kind of annotation of the values in the value range.
  • Tick represents a significant value in the value range.
  • Middle Tick represents ticks that are more important than a normal tick but less important than a Major Tick.
  • Major Tick represents the most important ticks.

  • GaugeRange is the base class of the ranges. It defines a value range from a minimum value to a maximum value and proportionally draws a scale, ticks and labels which span over the value range. The range also acts as a container for various indicators that are applicable to the range. Applicable meaning that some indicators are valid only in a specific range. For example the linear bar indicator is not applicable to the radial range and radial bar indicator is not applicable to the linear range.
  • LinearGaugeRange is a special kind of gauge range that simply draws the scale in a straight line and defines an Orientation property since the linear scale can be horizontal or vertical. It also defines different offsets from the middle of the layout slot so that the ticks, labels and indicators can be arranged without overlapping each other.
  • RadialGaugeRange is also a special kind of range that arranges its scale in a circular manner. It defines properties for min/max angle, sweep direction, different radii for the ticks, labels and indicators. It also defines a center mode property that determines where the center of the gauge will be relative to its layout slot.
