From Q1 2013 on, the manual installation package of Telerik UI for Windows 8 HTML also provides an extension SDK. This article explains how to perform a manual installation of Telerik UI for Windows 8 HTML and be able to reference them in your
project from the Reference Manager.
The steps that you need to perform are:
Download Telerik_UI_for_Windows_8.1_HTML_201X_X_XXX_Dev.zip to your machine and unzip it. If you do not know where to
find this file, do the following:
Go to your Telerik account.
Click on the Products & Subscriptions link.
On the next page click the Download Installer and other resources button.
Locate UI for Windows 8 HTML in the displayed list of products and click the
From the displayed list, pick Manual installation which will download
the .zip archive containing the installation files.
You will find a folder named ExtensionSDK. Open it and copy its contents.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v8.0\ExtensionSDKs\ and see if
there is a Telerik.UI folder in there. If there isn't, create it.
Inside Telerik.UI create a folder named after the version of the controls that you want to see in the References
Paste the ExtensionSDK folder content into the newly created folder and restart Visual Studio if it is running.
Now you should see Telerik UI for Windows 8.1 HTML in the References window.
Updating Telerik UI for Windows 8 HTML from a manual installation is done by creating a new folder in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v8.0\ExtensionSDKs\ and updating the reference
in your project. If the old version is no longer needed, you can delete its folder.
