Telerik Reporting

The MSI files are intended for easy and automatic installation of the product on your computer to a folder named Telerik in your Program Files, automatically creating the necessary virtual folders and projects. Additionally, it installs the help file(s) in the VS.NET IDE and in your local copy of MSDN, if you have such installed.

To install Telerik Reporting on your machine follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in your Client.NET account.
  2. Go to Your Products and click on Downloads (or Free Trials if you are a trial user).
  3. Click Telerik Reporting - the download would start automatically unless your browser/firewall blocks it. In such case, click the provided link to manually download the file.
  4. Once the download completes, run the Telerik Reporting Q1 2012.msi and follow the instructions.

    How to install Telerik Reporting

  1. After executing the msi file you should see the following window prompting the user to click next:
  2. Next you are provided with a customization window giving you ability to choose among several features, which are self explanatory. What you should note here is the Examples feature - it would be marked as deselected if we do not find a local  SQL Server instance on your machine or if your SQL Browser service is stopped. Supported SQL Server instances are SQL Server 2005  Standard/Express editions or later. In such case, the Reporting product would be installed without the demo reports, which can also be found online on our demos page.
    If we detect supported SQL Server instance, the Examples feature would be enabled by default and you should proceed with Next button.
    Note

    The Examples use the AdventureWorks database which is installed on your machine unless it already exists. Should you need to recover it, you can download it from codeplex.

  3. If Examples feature is selected in previous step, next step would let you choose your Database Server and the authentication used to connect. The Wizard should detect all running instances and list them in the input field.

Telerik Reporting will be added to the Visual Studio toolbox automatically. 

The Wizard will install Telerik Reporting in the following folder unless you specify otherwise: C:\Program Files\Telerik\Reporting Q1 2012. on 32 bit machines

C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\Reporting Q1 2012 on 64 bit machines

All Reporting assemblies are available in C:\Program Files\Telerik\Reporting Q1 2012\Bin folder:

  • Telerik.Reporting.dll
  • Telerik.ReportViewer.WebForms.dll
  • Telerik.ReportViewer.WinForms.dll
  • Telerik.Reporting.Adomd.dll

Assemblies targeting .NET 3.5 framework:

  • Telerik.Reporting.Service.dll
  • Telerik.Reporting.XpsRendering.dll
  • Telerik.ReportViewer.Silverlight.dll
  • Telerik.ReportViewer.Wpf.dll
  • Telerik.Reporting.OpenXmlRendering.dll

 

To view the Reporting examples, you can launch the Demos by opening Start Menu -> Programs -> Telerik -> Telerik Reporting Q1 2012 -->C#/VB NET Solutions,
