WP8 Tasks App Sync Error

    I'm using the trial for Telerik Cloud Sync with Tasks on my WP8. So far I haven't been able to get it to sync even once. I'd like to purchase the option but will wait until this sync errors is dealt with. I really want to sync with tasks for windows 8. The error message is:

    "Synchronization Error:
    Current Error context error is different to requested error."


    I made my account using the phone app, and it passed the authenticating loader, but when it tries to sync, well it doesn't. 

    Other than that this is a really great app and I hope these errors get fixed, Thanks!

    thank you for your feedback!
    Could you, please give us some more information about the issue you have noticed in order to be able to help you to resolve it:
    • what value has the setting "Completed tasks retention policy" into the Settings page? If it is 'Manual delete only', please, change it to any other value at the both devices- WP8 and Windows 8 and let us know if there is any change.

    Hi thanks for the quick reply.

    This worked perfectly, have set it to 1 year and no problem so far. Hopefully this will be fixed within the year! thanks.

    Hello Liam,
    A fix for that issue is already included into WP8 version of Tasks(v.WP1301), but  it needs to be added into next Windows 8 version of Tasks, which will be sooner than an year, for sure :)

    I'm having the same issue, but this time with a .NET client that fetches the backend services data. But I don't know where this 'Completed tasks retention policy' exists.

    Ivailo, where is this settings page you mention? I can't find it in the Telerik Backend Services areas.

    Hello Susan,

    Completed Task Retention Policy are part of the Settings page on the Tasks application. Simply swipe left when you run the (WP) application and you will find them.

    Hello,
    I have a similar problem. Synchronization error 'Current error context error is different to requested error'. Tried everything as mentioned above. No luck. Planning to purchase if the sync works.

    I has purchased W8 Tasks by Telerik on 27/5/2015 Purchase confirm code from Microsoft is 5039690681
    After purchase I canot register on your app
    ERROR SHOW

    Unable to connect to your account
    A Role with specified id does not exist

    I did not try evaluate. Jist read review and good product to buy. Then buy it but not functional. Tasks for windows 8 metro apps.
