Hi
Apologies in advance if this is documented somewhere.
Do you support Windows tablets, specifically Windows RT and Windows Pro?
I was surprised to find the menu didn't work in IE in desktop or metro mode on windows tablets without a mouse
http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/menu/index
Normally you hover with the mouse to see a dropdown but clicking didn't do anything.
It seems to work on everything else, IE, FireFox, Chrome, iPad, iPhone and Android phone
thanks

Hi Anthony,
It appears there is an issue in the current version of Kendo UI Menu, however I forwarded it to the developers for further investigation. I will post a reply in this thread as soon as I have any information on the subject. Please excuse us for any inconvenience this may cause.

I'd be interested in knowing the reason when you find it, I thought Internet Explorer across the phone and tablet were the same.
Thanks for the reply.

Hi Anthony,
The IE browsers on Windows 8 touch devices and WP8+ are not the same - they come from the same code base, but Microsoft cuts some features and adds others to make them usable on phone devices. Additionally the underlying OS is also different. Coincidentally the last thing that was added in the last WP8.1 IE11 update were WebKit-style touch events which I suspect are the reason the Menu works there and not in tablets, which uses the IE PointerEvent model only. On the plus side, the issue was fixed and tested and will be released with the next internal build, probably today. Let me know if the fix works for you.

Hi Kamen
(As of 2014.2.903) On the surface 2 (RT) this behavior appears to be alright (though not perfect).
For the main node of the drop down (which doesn't have a link) you can click on the menu item and it will reveal its children. Much better than version 801 where it was impossible to see the children.
For a menu item (with children) where the main node has a link it is still impossible to see the children (unless im missing something). It will always follow the link regardless of the action done on the menu item. Hold and click may be a good alternative (like activating the context menu)
Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,
thank you for your suggestion. We will consider this as a future improvement of the menu behavior on touch devices.
