Currently I am looking for another rich text editor to replace the default one in WSS 3 and I came across radeditor!

When the comparison chart for Native MS Editor for MOSS vs Telerik RadEditor Lite for ASP.Net showing both can and cannot do exactly the same stuff, so what is the purpose of using Telerik RadEditor Lite then?  Or did I miss out something? Pardon a novice like me if that's the case  :~)

Hope to get any suggestion or advice from you guys, thanks.

Hi Michelle,

The Liht RadEditor for MOSS is a free control, this is the reason why it does not have all the functionality of the ASP.NET AJAX RadEditor for MOSS. Indeed it has the same functionality as the OOB, however it produces more XHTML compliant code and is usable in different than IE browsers.

Hi! Stanimir
Thanks for your reply.

So in terms feature such as Insert Image, Insert Hyperlink, will RadEditor Lite better off than Native MS Editor?
For example, native MS Editor require user to input the exact path for hyperlink and does not provide button to browse :(

Hello Michelle,

In the following online demo you can review the classic version of RadEditor http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-classic/Editor/Examples/Default/DefaultCS.aspx. You can check the Link and Image managers there.

Hi Michelle,

Lite RadEditor for MOSS is based on classic RadEditor. All the functionality which is available in Lite RadEditor for MOSS is available in classic RadEditor as well, but not vise verse.

All the best,
