Hi,

Why isn't it possible to disable/hide the ColumnMenu on specific columns like Filterable or Sortable i.e. ColumnMenu(false)

Hi Robert,

Indeed such a feature has not been implemented yet, but the same result can be easily achieved with a couple of JavaScript lines like demonstrated here:
http://www.telerik.com/forums/show-column-menu-only-in-certain-columns

Nevertheless, if you would like a built-in property for such functionality, I would suggest that you submit a feature request into our UserVoice portal and we will consider its implementation depending on the item's popularity.

Kind regards,

Hi, there was a Suggestion in 2013 about this but it is "Declined"

http://kendoui-feedback.telerik.com/forums/127393-kendo-ui-feedback/suggestions/3796132-disable-columnmenu

I have made a comment about this:

it is not supported the same way as disabling sorting or filtering but only with some Javascript which is not a good solution and not consistent...
please add this to the grid

Hi Robert,

The linked feature request is a more common one and the answer of it indeed is that this feature is supported, as the client did not specify a way to disable the context menu of a column (e.g. with Javascript). I would advise that you submit a brand new item, describing the exact requirements you want to be fulfilled, so the requested feature will gain votes and popularity on its own.
