I'm trying to understand exactly why the LoadSize property was left out when compared to the WCF RIA DomainDataSource.

With the DDS, we can load up several pages for the user before the next server call.  With the RAD DDS, every page does a service call.  This seems very expensive and, for the user, can be tedious and slow.

Can someone explain why no LoadSize?

Hello Michael MSTG,

Unfortunately, the LoadSize feature is the only feature that RadDomainDataSource lacks compared to the stock DomainDataSource.

We have some distant plans for a more complex caching mechanism, but I cannot commit to a specific time frame for its implementation, since it will be shared between different controls (at least that's the idea) and we have not yet fully designed it.

Please, excuse us for the inconvenience.

Greetings,
