We are in the process of starting an Automated Testing initiative here and I am using this opportunity to move us off of our existing test management platform - Quality Center.  I really love the Team Pulse and Test Studio duo, but I have concerns about Manual Testing.  We will still need to do a great deal of Manual Testing.  How well is that handled in Test Studio?  Does anyone else have concerns that you have to pay the full price of an automation tool just to get manual testing as well?  Other products seem to have manual testing within the LifeCycle tool - eg Quality Center, SmartBear ALM Complete, Rational, etc.  Why did telerik decide against this approach?

Thanks,
Charles

Hello Charles,

We don't have special entity for manual tests or test cases. But you can use our Acceptance Criteria. You can add acceptance criteria to every story or bug. You can use the Given, When, Then pattern that we added by default or you can use your own.
Is this feasible in your case?

All the best,

Hello Charles,

I'm not clear what you mean by "Is this the same for Test Studio?". Test Studio has a rich Manual Testing feature. It's included in the full Test Studio Standalone version (and not available separately) because the idea is that Manual Tests shouldn't stay manual forever. We've included the ability to easily transition your Manual Tests to fully Automated. Please review our documentation in that area. Also we encourage you to download a trial to test it out, and let us know if you have further questions.
