We have both a web and desktop application that uses several telerik RadControls. Unfortunately, I'm having difficulty using these controls in a CodedUI Test in Visual Studio 2010. The test recorder picks up the control, but can't uniquely identify it or get any properties from it.

Are there any extensions available to the UI testing in Visual Studio to help us with testing these controls? This is killing our automation efforts not being able to simply get text from a RadLabel, or click a specific cell in a Grid.

Thanks,
Brandon

Hi Brandon,

RadControls for WinForms do not support Microsoft Active Accessibility. We are still researching this new testing technology and hope to provide support for MSAA early next year.

Good afternoon Vassil.

We are currently in the same boat as the last user. We have developed our application in Silverlight 4.0 and are using Visual Studio 2010 Coded UI tests to auomate our testing. The issue is the same where the test can be recorded, but once the test is executed the tab controls cannot be found. Could you please provide an update as to when the fix will be available? Is there an opportunity to demo a Beta version of this solution? We would be happy to provide feedback on the functionality.

Thanks,

Hello Brandon,

This Forum thread relates to RadControls for WinForms, but I will address your question any way. It will be best to check the Telerik Silverlight Forums for more in-depth answer to your question.

Indeed, currently only very few of RadControls for Silverlight have UI Automation functionality. We are aware of that and we are planning to provide extended support for UI Automation in 2011. Here is the list of what is supported currently: Silverlight UI Automation.

Best wishes,
Vassil

Q3’10 SP1 of RadControls for WinForms is available for download; also available is the Q1'11 Roadmap for Telerik Windows Forms controls.

Hi Brandon,

I am writing to inform you that as of Q1 2011 we are MSAA compliant. Feel free to download the latest version of our controls and give it a try. For more information about MSAA support in RadControls for WinForms, please refer to the following blog post
