Hi guys
I am pretty desperate for this control. We have a bunch of new designers with absolutely no .NET experiance (PHP background) and they work remotely. I need a solution that allows them to create skins for the controls and test it easily without having to need a Telerik developer license. I assume that the visual skin builder is perfect for this as it will allow the designers to work with the programmers in an efficient and seemless manner. I need to know if this is the case and when I can get my hands on a beta or something. Pretty desperate here as I need to get them to start skinning the controls ASAP. Telerik what is your take on this?

The Visual Style Builder will be a perfect fit for your case. We will be releasing a public preview in the coming weeks. I have attached a prototype screenshot.

Perfect. I am really looking forward to this. I can see an immediate increase in public custom skins. I for one will be publish the skins I plan to create. So just to confirm its a standalone app (does not require the telerik controls) that I can give to my designers who can then create the skin for all the controls and send me the result. If this is the case then I have even fallen more in love with Telerik. You guys make my job so much easier. THANK YOU

Hi Michael,
Yes, the Visual Style Builder is a stand-alone online tool and will be made available on our website. Anyone can go there and use it. It will be very easy to create custom skins or to tweak any of the embedded skins to fit your scenarios. For a later stage we are also planning several community features in the Visual Style Builder tool. We want to facilitate the sharing of custom skins among customers. Currently, there are a lot of people creating great custom skins and we will provide them the means (if they want) to easily share them with the other Telerik customers.

Hello,
We're currently nearing the end of a project where we've created a custom skin for our application and we would like to pass on to our customers the necessary information for them to create their own skin. Having gone through the process I know its going to take a couple of days to document everything needed to create a custom skin for our application. I would ideally prefer not to have to go through that process if your Visual Style Builder application is close to being released and instead point our customers to the application and outline which Telerik tools our application is using.
Can your provide a release date for the application? Is it possible to assist in beta testing?

The full release of the Visual Style Builder is targeted for the Q2 release in July. We are now working on the first public preview which will be available soon and will only allow styling of a subset of controls.
All feedback will be very welcome when we release the preview.
