Hi,

I have a web page containing a RadTabStrip which has its orientation set to VerticalLeft.  It works fine in all browsers except IE7.  You can see the same behaviour off the demo page.  To reproduce:

In IE7, open http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/tabstrip/examples/functionality/orientation/defaultcs.aspx then select the VerticalLeftOrientation.  You will get a HorizontalTop orientation instead.  See attached screen shot.

I've also noticed that VerticalRight actually behaves as HorizontalBottom.

Does anyone have a woraround for this?

Thanks,

-- Joel

Hi, Joel.

That appears to be issue related to IE7. I have logged it and we'll fix it.

For this bug report I am rewarding you some Telerik points, which you can see updated in your account profile.

I tried your demo site in IE10 and it appears to not work.  Vertical left stacks the tabs on top. Vertical right stacks the tabs on the bottom.  In compatibility mode they work the same as top and bottom.

Hi, Joel.

We are aware of this issue and we have addressed it. That is an issue of the demo -- the width required by IE10 is slightly more than the width required by other browsers.

For the 2013 Q2 release we'll update the demo.

I am experiencing the same issue in my application.  Can you display what the "fix" is and elaborate more on what the issue is?

Hi, David.

There are two issues with the demo:

1) The vertical tabstrip does not have width set
2) The container is not always wide enough to accumulate the tab and the multi page

So for the release we made it so to fix the width of the tabstrip when in vertical mode and we tweaked the width of the container so both the tabstrip and multipage fit.

(the latter issue is related to how IE10 renders pages when compared to other browsers)

Kind regards,

I'm having the same problem with the vertical orientation in IE7.  Can someone please post a detailed fix for this?  The post above mine is confusing.  I am using v 2012.3.1308.40 of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX.

Thanks.

Hi, Dean.

As per my previous comment -- just add width to the vertical toolbar.

I have escalated this issue and will try to deliver a fix that does not need developers to set width.
