No use of arrow keys to move text boxes - using the mouse is cumbersome and often results in objects snapping to the grid at random distances.
overall im rather disappointed with the reporting package. Users think the web interface is quite tacky and have asked to roll back to 'on screen' reports using gridviews :-(
I do hope it improves over time as we are seriously considering dropping it in favour of something more mature.

Hello Guy,
Use of arrow keys has been implemented almost an year ago when we implemented the new designer for v.2.0 of Reporting. I've just checked and it is working with the latest official version as well. Please elaborate on the scenario where arrow keys do not work.
Sincerely yours,
Steve

I have a report open in designer mode
i am using version 2.9.8.1209
If i select a report field / text box in the report detail section (or any section for that matter) then press the arrow keys the object does not move.
also the alternate row color using conditional formatting does not work either.
as specified in this article

Hi Guy,
We have the following questions/suggestions:

We have the following questions/suggestions:
- what Visual Studio version do you use
- do you have more than one Visual Studio opened and do you switch between them
- do you use horizontal/vertical tab groups in Visual Studio
- how do you select the item - are you sure that it has the focus? Make sure of that by dragging it with the mouse first and then try using the arrow keys. Double click on a textbox item brings it to edit mode so you would not be able to move it while editing as well.
- to exclude the possibility of having another program taking over the focus, try the same with a standard winform and a textbox/button on it. If you cannot move that as well, then there is something wrong on your end.

- i use visual studio 2008 professional. it is the only version of visual studio i run on my pc
- i only have one copy of visual studio open at a time.
- i do not use tab groups
- i am selecting the object - its border turns to thick blue. i am only clicking once. if i press the left arrow key the whole report sort of sways to the left slightly, only once though. After that no amount of directional keypad presses do anything at all.
- i can move objects on a winform with no issue, i just tried a button on a new winforms project and it does it just fine.

I installed the telerik reporting on my home machine yesterday evening and i can move the objects around the report with my arrow keys just fine.
so this issue is isolated to my work laptop only (great!)
regarding the customer feedback - i am going to try and get the reports to open in a radwindow with the viewer inside, maybe this will put a smile on their face.
on a positive note - the global styling is good and helps us maintain consistency.

Hi Guy,
The Web ReportViewer is shipped with three predefined skins which you can use. I am not sure what your users find as the tacky part of it, but if it is the toolbar itself, you can always prepare your own UI. Here are two examples:
and then of course there is the possibility to style the report exactly as you need it. For more info please refer to our Styling Reports section.
Best wishes,
Steve

Hi Steve,
The styling is not an issue, it is actually a lot easier to manage with telerik reports than in other solutions.
Personally i think the customer is too familiar with windows style report viewers and the concept of 'seeing a printable page in a window'
There are various ways i can deal with this and it should not be too much work.
Many thanks for your prompt replies and the resources you have provided.
