I'm also seeing the same issue, except it's stopping our users from printing reports. When they click the print icon, they'll see the message "Unable to perform the Print operation". The only way for them to print, is to export to PDF and then print from that app.

I notice that you said a fix was available, but that it's not available - any suggestions?

Hello Kori,

That is a different thing. Google Chrome with version 8 and later introduced a Chrome PDF Viewer that is incompatible with Adobe's plugin. The Web Report Viewer uses the Adobe Reader's plug-in for the print functionality. Thus in order for the printing to work, you have to enable the Adobe's plug-in from chrome://plugins/ page, which automatically disables chrome plug-in as they are mutually exclusive.

You would be happy to know that we were able to utilize the Chrome PDF Viewer for printing as well and this functionality would also be available in the upcoming service pack.

Kind regards,
Steve

Our user was unable to upgrade to the latest so I switched Chrome to use the Adobe viewer and it still wouldn't print (although no error). I needed to also start Chrome with administrative rights in order to get the print dialog to come up.

Hello,

In Q3 2011 SP1 we've added support for Chrome's PDF plugin, so it is no longer necessary to install Adobe Acrobat in order to print from the ASP.NET report viewer. When the ASP.NET report viewer does not detect Adobe or Chrome PDF plugin it would fall back to PDF export.
