Touch Performance in Win8

Hi!

Have you guys already tried your PDF viewer control on the Win8 community preview ?
We're trying to port an app to Win8 and are unable to get PDF viewer performance under WPF anywhere near the integrated Win8 viewer.

Are we doing something wrong or is there a performance issue with WPF and the touch interface ?

Hello Martin,

RadPdfViewer has not been tested in touch mode. We have in mind to implement such behavior, but we have not scheduled it yet. At this point it is not clear when it will be implemented.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

As Kammen said, so far we have not made any steps towards porting RadPdfViewer for touch and testing it. Therefore, touch operations are not officially supported. When we start implementing them, we will make sure to achieve the best performance that the framework can provide.

Are there any updates to touch support for radPDFViewer?  I'd like to use it on a Windows 8 tablet but as of today the performance is generally not good, however I have not taken any steps in code to specifically address touch, if necessary.

Hello Mark,

Currently there are some issues with touch on Windows 8 devices that comes from some input (Mouse / Touch) events redesign in the OS. We are working on having them fixed as soon as possible.

In the upcoming Q3 release improved touch support for almost all controls in the suite will be included, RadPdfViewer is also one of them.
