The availability of the view depends on your subscription. I can see that you've made a subscription in which it is not included. But I can also see that your company is Telerik, and they do have a subscription-plan for their products that does include that feature. You're actually associated with that account, but is listed as "deleted". My suggestion would be to contact someone in charge of that account and get un-deleted there.
Back to the total number: what you'll see in the installation view is actually the number of new installations over time for the selected period, not the total as such. That would make a great feature, I agree. For now you'll have to export the graph data to excel (using the graph's menu) and sum it up there, or show monthly data and simply add up the numbers by hand. Sorry about that inconvenience - that's clearly not very friendly.
