Yesterday I installed a service pack of new version of Telerik (Telerik_Reporting_Trial_Installer_R3_2016_SP1_10_2_16_1025) as suggested by Telerik to resolve few bugs in version R3_2016_10_915 - After the upgrade, when i opened my application where the report viewer is plugged in, it asked to run upgrade wizard and it upgraded files on my machine, please see attached (Telerik Upgrade Wizard.png) to see list of files it upgraded - Though doing all this resolved my initial issue, but now in report viewer in our web api, it is showing tool bar at the bottom of the viewer which is kind off odd.

Can you please guide me how shall i re-position my toolbar for it to appear on the top again -

Hello Naureen,

This is not expected behavior.

Please inspect the HTML rendered in the page and trace the style inheritance. Most probably external CSS rules are overriding the styles of the viewer.

In order to provide you more accurate suggestions, please open a support ticket and send us a demo project that reproduces the problem.

Stef

Anything new regarding this question? We have the same problem with the toolbar displayed at the bottom.

Hi Mikael,

No new information.
Please post screenshots and details about the viewer's settings (page with the viewer, any modifications in the viewer's CSS, HTML, JS templates). Also test to exclude external styles loaded on the page, to test if it is a matter of CSS.

We will appreciate it if you open a support ticket and send us a demo project that reproduces the problem.

Stef

We were able to resolve this issue - Basically we used update wizard provided by Telerik to update dlls and references, the wizard some how deleted telerikReportViewerTemplate, getting this file back resolved our issue of toolbar. Having said that, the wizard also did something else, that was not allowing us to view our report when we publish our application in any environment. The workaround we did was that we re-store our old code that had old dlls and references and then manually updated all reference files - I am assuming the the wizard is not aware about our framework and that why we had this issue - Hope this can help you resolving your issue

Hello Naureen,

Thank you for this update.

In newer versions the HTML template is requested automatically from the Reporting RESt service. If the HTML or other template is customized, you will have to upgrade and merge the template files manually - Upgrading Telerik Reporting Projects.

We're experiencing the same issue. After updating Telerik Reporting, the toolbar now appears at the bottom of all reports. I tried modifying the template to move trv-nav above trv-content, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Stef - you said the HTML template might have to be replaced manually. Where can we get the latest version of the HTML template? The link you provided doesn't have that information.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

You can check the reply provided in the support ticket #1084628 and send us a demo project illustrating your current setup so we can test it locally.

The viewer's HTML template is requested via Telerik Reporting REST service. You do not need to reference it in viewer's settings unless you want to set a custom HTML template for the viewer - Providing Templates.

For anybody else experiencing the same issue - it looks like the FontAwesome version of the template doesn't work in this build for whatever reason. The problem vanished for us after switching to the regular version of the template.

Hi Matthew,

Referencing FontAwsome template (C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\Reporting R3 2016\Html5\ReportViewer\templates\telerikReportViewerTemplate-FA.html) as viewer's templateUrl works as expected on our side (check support ticket #1084628).

It might be that the project is referencing the modified template. We can provide more accurate suggestions after testing a demo project reproducing this issue.
