I'm using a vertical splitter (2008 Q3 1105 in IE7or IE8, non-IE browsers are OK) and find that when I use AJAX to change the contents of the right-hand pane I sometimes get textboxes that cannot be clicked on to enter text. All others controls on the page are clickable and even the auto-complete works on the textboxes but it isn't possible to get a cursor into the textbox or enter any text into it.

The problem seems to be connected with the RadComboBox control, as the only way to reliably reproduce the fault is to load a page in the right-hand splitter pane that uses a RadComboBox, then, using AJAX, reload the right-hand splitter pane with a page that contains textboxes.

I've seen posts on the internet that transparent divs over the page might cause this but we have none of those on the page. Could the RadComboBox be inserting one?

Do you have any ideas what might cause this problem or anything I might be able to try?

A little more information regarding this thread:

If I remove the RadComboBoxes from the page, the fault goes away, so it is definitely caused by those controls somehow interfering with normal asp textbox controls.

Perhaps this thread should be moved to the RadComboBox forum?

Hello Andy,

I am not aware of the problem you report but a lot of improvements were made and bugs were fixed since the Q3 2008 version of RadControls you use and that is why it is possible that the problem you face is already solved in the new version. That is why I suggest to wait until our Q2 2009 build is available which is scheduled for these days, upgrade to it and test whether the issue is resolved.

In case the upgrade does not help, please provide more details about the issue along with some of your code and we will do our best to help.

Kind regards,
Svetlina
