Is it possible to put text on the bar-series control?  If so could I have an example.

Thank you for contacting Telerik support.

If you are trying to put the text above the corresponding bar series you can just enable the labels for it. Also you can use the LabelFormatting event to customize the displayed text. Sample implementation of this approach is available in the attache project.

Additionally you can also use smart labels if this is suitable for your case: Smart labels
