Could you please uninstall the product, remove everything under the installation directory and install it again?
If that does not help please send us a Visual Studio activities log. It can be obtained by starting Visual Studio 2010 with the command switch /log "[Destination]\ActivityLog.xml", (make sure the IDE is closed before taking the log). Additional information regarding the target framework you are trying the use the project templates with, will be highly appreciated.
