I just installed the trial version of the "All Dev Tools" from Telerik Friday. I was following the instructions from the OpenAccess ORM CreateMVCProject guidance where it says to select the "Telerik OpenAccess MVC 4 Application" Project type. I do not see this in my installed projects. I only see "Telerik OpenAccess MVC 2 Application." I did not have MVC 4 on this machine prior to installing the Telerik tools. I installed MVC 4 and reran the install for Telerik and it did seem to add two more components, though I'm not sure what they were. I still do not see MVC 4 option. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Jennifer

Hello Jennifer,

Thank you for pointing our attention to that problem in our documentation.

The Telerik OpenAccess MVC 4 Application template is a part of the Telerik MVC extensions, which are offered as a separate product - a fact that we will mention in the documentation.

I suggest you to try the Kendo UI MVC template that should be available in Visual Studio if you have installed Telerik KendoUI. Another possibility is to use the default ASP.NET MVC4 Application template. Both of the alternatives will not influence the workflow described in our example.

In addition, I suggest you to take a look at the examples delivered with our Telerik OpenAccess SDK Browser. There you can find a nice MVC 4 example called MVC Forum application.

If you have any other questions, do not hesitate to get back to us.

Now I'm really worried reading your answer because I am evaluating your tool, and I had read that ORM integrates with and manages MVC 4, How I must understand your answer? within which of the three products that are available they will be placed? when will it be clearly defined yours business model?
Advance my thanks for the prompt reply.

Hi Mauricio,

Telerik OpenAccess ORM integrates equally well with the deprecated Telerik MVC Extensions, the new Telerik KendoUI MVC Extensions and the Microsoft project template for MVC4. That means you can use either of them to get your project started, without any differences.

Unfortunately, those facts were not clearly described in our current resources - something that was already addressed and will soon be corrected in our online documentation.

Do not hesitate to get back to us for any further clarifications on the OpenAccess ORM integration with MVC.
