Hi
I am using Team Pulse to input a lot of stories at the moment; I am running a Dell E6400 laptop with an Intel core 2 duo 2.4GHz and 4GB of RAM on Win7 32bit. We recently upgraded to Q3 (not the service pack yet) and my laptop is really struggling; after a short while all the fans kick in and according to task manager the cpu usage is jumping from 50-100%, after a few hours I've noticed the memory usage going up to almost 900MB for my browsers process (Chrome and/or IE9). The problem did not occur prior to the Q3 update.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, is it resolved in the service pack for Q3?
Many thanks
John

Hello John,
Jordan
the Telerik team
Thanks for the feedback. We have some memory and performance issues with the product. Our main focus was adding new features. From now we will spend more time on the memory and performance. Actually we are preparing a SP2 which will be focused on the memory and performance optimizations.

Hi thanks for the update - its certainly working fast on my laptop now but memory usage is still very high.

Hello John,
We're glad TeamPulse is working better for you. As with any product, there are still areas we would like to improve but time is never your friend.
Which parts of TeamPulse are you using when memory usage seems high?
Best wishes,
Greg

View, adding and editing stories in the Requirements area - I am using chrome and we have almost 1500 stories so far...

Hello John,
1500 is a good number. Stories can be fairly hefty objects if you have large descriptions or lots of attachments. Despite the memory usage, do you notice if TeamPulse slows down after a while? Or does it stay responsive?
Filtering by areas and/or iterations other than the root would also reduce memory usage.
I'll make sure the right people get this feedback.
Best wishes,

The ones I've been working on aren't too big, a paragraph of text - links via the relationships to other stories.
The performance isn't bad - although the more memory that gets used the worse it gets. I guess compared to before the memory usage still creeps up and up but not half as quickly. I have had it open for about half an hour and Chrome is currently using 600meg - give it another half hour and the usage will go up and the fans on the laptop will fire up.
Thanks Greg :)
