I'm looking for PDF Viewer for SL and I just tried the one from RADControls for Silverlight.
Currently it throws NullReferenceException for most of PDFs I tried (various publicly available documents, no hacks) but for few PDFs it works quite fine (although it does not display pictures). I know it is beta. What are the time line for this control? Any release date planned already? Would be really cool to have PDF viewer in Telerik suite..
Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback on the PDF viewer.
When it comes to the null-reference exception, this is an unexpected behavior and we would appreciate if you could open a support ticket and attach some of the files that can be used to reproduce the issue.
As for the fact that some files are not displayed properly, this may be due to the fact that support for cross-reference stream was not implemented in the Beta release. In the upcoming Service Pack in mid-January, an official version of the control will be shipped which will include support of cross-reference streams.
When it comes to the import of images, currently only JPEG images can be imported. We have this issue on our to-do list as well.
I hope this answers your questions.

Will there be a way to edit or populate the .pdf files with data in the viewer?
Currently, Adobe Acrobat 10 Pro allows us to 'fill in' forms created and published as .pdf files. It would be great to be able to take data from our database and fill in the forms that our clients give us. We're currently doing this with .docx files and the RichTextEditor... and it works well - thank you.
But often our clients ask us to replicate their very complicated forms and they send them as .pdf's. Adobe Acrobat 10 Pro has a feature to export files as .docx but it's not what I had hoped for. There's often a lot of clean up that has to take place. What I'd like to see is our clients just send over their form as a .pdf and I add in the field names for populating the data.
Can I put this on my Christmas wish list?
Thanks!
~ Dave
We are glad to hear that you have successfully implemented your project using RadRichTextBox.
When it comes to your request for PDF editing, we will put this feature on our to-do list but it is not certain if or when it will be implemented. At this point, RadPdfViewer is still at a beta stage and issues regarding the display and the layout of the documents are of highest priority. Once the set of documents that are correctly loaded and displayed reaches the desired percent, we will consider introducing an editing functionality for the PDF viewer.

Sorry to say, I haven't heard of any changes to this control or feature yet.
I'm sure Telerik can tell us more.
Take care,
~ Dave
Unfortunately PDF-editing control is not scheduled for now, and at this point it's not clear if and when such will be implemented.
