Hi there,
I am having a problem with Stack Rank not being visible in the system. I can see a bunch of other columns, but Stack Rank doesn't seem to be among them. How can I get the stack rank as we use it for prioritisation of tasks.

Hello Matthew,

We do not have stack rank as an available column in TeamPulse. We developed tasks with the intent that every task is as important as another, and that they all need to be completed in order complete the story they belong to.

I understand that you use Stack Rank as the priority, but what do you use the priority of a task for?

Yep, while I would agree with you for Tasks, we use Stack Rank on our Stories to prioritise them in the backlog. The backlog is defined well in advance and is loaded into TFS early in the project (although occasionally new stories get added and removed). We use the MSF agile template and although we were initially fairly excited about this tool, we pretty much can't use this without the stack rank as we have hundreds and hundreds of stories in our backlogs for most of our projects. How easy is this to add in to the product? Or is it never going to happen and we need to look at other possible tools?

Thanks for you help,

Hi Matthew,

Could you use the Priority field on Stories as your Stack Rank? You can customize the mappings we use to sync TeamPulse and TFS so that the Stack Rank from your User Story in TFS would sync to Priority on Stories in TeamPulse. Would something like this work for you?

Kind regards,
