In the following demo: http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/controls/examples/integration/gridandradasyncupload/defaultcs.aspx?product=upload you have a skin selector that does nothing because the grid has Office2007 skin hardcoded into it.

In addition, the Radasynch upload control is within an edit item template, and no matter what skin I use for the upload control, it is inheriting the settings from the grid.

Is it possible to set the skin  for a control in the edit template to be different than the skin of the containing grid?
If so, how?

This appears to be a bug.

Hey Telerik,
I seem to consistently have issues with your team not responding to issues on this forum. It has now been 4 days since I posted this. If needby, I could just submit a support ticket for every issue I have, but would prefer not to.
Is there any particular reason why it is taking so long for you to respond?

Do I now need to post, and then ask like this to get a response?

Hello Nano,

The guaranteed response time is valid only for support tickets, so if you have an urgent issue, we recommend you use this option instead of the forums.

Regarding the issue you reported, I am glad to let you know that we will fix the demo for the next service pack. The change is quite simple actually. You simply have to remove setting the Skin property for both RadGrid and the nested RadAsyncUpload control. If you set the Skin property explicitly just for RadAsyncUpload, it will have precedence over the skin that is determined by the skin chooser for RadGrid.

Your Telerik points have been updated.

All the best,
Peter

I would appreciate it if you could look into the skin issue. You commented: " If you set the Skin property explicitly just for RadAsyncUpload, it will have precedence over the skin that is determined by the skin chooser for RadGrid."

I understand that the skin should have precedence, what I am telling you, however, is that it doesn't work. I did set the skin explicitly, and it the upload control did not use the explicit skin, it inherited the skin of the grid.

Try setting it explicitly in your demo, and see what happens.

I tested the scenario and the skin applied correctly for RadAsyncUpload. Please, see this video capture of my test - http://screencast.com/t/UnsNwVl1QIA.

Do you use RadSkinManager? If yes, please test without it and let me know how it  goes.

Kind regards,
Peter
