Simulator in AppBuilder shows white screen and does not load debug tools. I cannot see console or any other debug options. On clicking debug it shows a white space at bottom without any tools/ options. Same project is working in AppBuilder web browser simulator. This happened after I updated the AppBuilder Windows client before the update it was working fine. Please look into the issue and fix ASAP as I cannot do anything without simulator and debug tools.

Hi Rajesh,

As replied in your other forum thread:

"Such issue could occur due to wrongly cached simulator files. If this is the case, you will need to navigate to the %localappdata%\Telerik\BlackDragon\Cache folder and delete all of its content. Note that, all AppBuilder clients must be turned off before that. After you have deleted the cache, please check if the issue still remains.

Also, I must note that with the yesterdays AppBuilder 2.5 release we introduced a critical bug within the simulator that prevents the correct rendering of CSS transitions. The good news however is, we have scheduled a hotfix for this for next week.

Until then, you should be able to test your applications in the In-browser client, actual devices or in the native emulators.
"

Please, accept our apologies once again.

Kaloyan

Hello Carl,

Could you check if deleting the cache solves the issue on your side? Here is how to do this:
"you will need to navigate to the %localappdata%\Telerik\BlackDragon\Cache folder and delete all of its content. Note that, all AppBuilder clients must be turned off before that."

Further, if the issue still remains after that, you can try updating your video card drivers, as such cases have also been reported.

I hope this helps. Please, let me know if you require our further assistance.

Hello again Carl,

I forgot to link the known issue, as written in our data base. As said in that link:

Issue related to: AppBuilder Windows client and the AppBuilder extension for Visual Studio

When you launch the simulator, the simulator loads but the device screen remains white or the simulator loads but the application is not rendered properly.

When you launch the simulator, the application is not rendered properly. This might be caused by outdated device drivers for your graphics card or a corrupted simulator module.
  • Workaround:
    • Update the device drivers for your graphics card.
    • If updating the device drivers does not resolve the problem, perform a clean install of the AppBuilder Windows client.
      1. Close all running instances of the AppBuilder Windows client.
      2. From the Windows Control Panel, uninstall AppBuilder Windows client.
      3. In a file explorer, navigate to %localappdata%\Temp and delete the IceDeviceSimulator directory and all its contents.
      4. Navigate to %localappdata%\Telerik and delete the BlackDragon directory and all its contents.
      5. Navigate to %localappdata%\Apps\2.0 and delete the contents of the directory.
      6. Install AppBuilder Windows client.
You can use the same setup.exe that you used for the initial installation.

Sorry for this.

Kaloyan

Hi Kaloyan,

I've done everything i could to make this work ( update video drivers, uninstall AppBuilder, delete contents in app dir ) and i still have the problem...

I've done some development in the summer and everything was working normally.

For your information, I tried on a different computer that has never run AppBuilder and had the same problem...

Hi Carl,

Could you share if both the PC configurations are identical, or at least their video cards are the same? And if so, can you please give me some more details about them? Here, I must note it could be better if we continue this discussion in a private support ticket in order to prevent any sensitive data leaks. So, I recommend you opening one on the matter.

Until we investigate what is causing the issue on your side, you should be able to use the simulator in the AppBuilder In-browser client. It has the same functionality as the other simulators between our clients.

I hope this helps and I am looking forward to your reply.

Kaloyan
