Our client is looking at purchasing the reporting package from Telerik and we are putting together some sample reports with the trial.  We are stuck on a particular issue, however.  We cannot get the table borders to show properly when reports are multiple pages.  I have taken a screenshot of the table border settings and a screenshot of the rendered report.

We are nearing the end of our evaluation but this is a "must have" for the client as it's crucial for a professional looking report.

Perhaps I am missing some settings?

Thanks,

Robert

Hi Robert,

We believe that we have discussed similar matters in one of your previous post "table missing bottom border", where we talked about the cell border, but the same is applicable for the table border as well.

Sincerely yours,

Steve,

Having a table of information that is more than one page is a very common usage scenario.  In fact, over half of our reports will be a simple table of information and I'm sure I'm not the only person who wants to display tables that span multiple pages. How are your current clients solving this problem?  How soon could this be fixed if we purchased the package?

Has anyone here found a workaround for this bug?

Thanks,

Robert

I need to get a final answer on this for the client.   What is the reason that table borders do not work and when will it be addressed?

Thanks,

Robert

Hi Robert,

This behavior is neither a bug, nor a missing functionality, on the contrary - it is by design. The table is a single item, it has one top and bottom and the fact that it spans on multiple pages does not change that. Showing top and bottom borders on each page would be rather confusing creating the illusion that this is a separate item and not a continuation of the item from the previous page.
We've made some tests and the behavior of the competition is similar, so can you share where you've seen this and elaborate why do you expect it to behave differently than what we've described above?

Best wishes,
Steve

I disagree with you there Steve.
We need some way to close the tables if they continue on the next page..
Reports are about looks, and if many end-users consider prints broken if they look bad.

In my case, my client needs to print diplomas and those open-ended tables makes it look unproffessional:

Hello Henrik,

The Table.Style.Borders are rendered around the item, and if there is a page break in between the rows this is not an end of the item but an end of the page.

Please test using background image in the section or the borders of the surroundings sections to achieve the desired layout.

Feel free to open a support ticket and send us a demo project, with report and test data, to check your settings and the options to style the document as requested.

Regards,
Stef

Hello kachy,

The information in my previous post is still valid. Please test using the page footer section's top border to style the content.

Stef
