I would like to use the iCal export capability in a situation where we are not actually using the Scheduler or Calendar components. We have events in a SQL Server table, for which we would just like to add a simple "Add to my calendar" button, in which case we download an ICS file. Most users are on Outlook.

Hi Thomas,

Currently, RadScheduler's iCalendar Export functionality aims to export the appointments just like they are represented in the RadScheduler itself. If you need not to export recurring appointments then you can create only regular appointments; you can even remove the recurrence editor from the advanced form thus confining the users from creating recurring appointments.
The following online demo shows the iCalendar Export functionality of RadScheduler in more details:
http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/scheduler/examples/export/defaultcs.aspx.

I hope this will help.
