Hi,

I am sure I am not the only person who would like to ask this question, that is why I am posting it on the forum.
We have an existing application built on Silverlight 4 and of coarse Telerik controls. Before we go down the path of
starting to upgrade to Silverlight 5, I would like to find out if there are any catches or bugs we should be aware of.
Or is it safer to stay on Silverlight 4 and give you more time with Silverlight 5?

We have had a bumpy road getting to where we are with Silverlight and Telerik controls. But each time your
support department has had an answer for us and quickly too. Thanks for the great products!!!

Louis

Hello Louis,

So far we are not aware of any issues with Silverlight 4 application under Silverlight 5. You can check our demos for more info. In my opinion you should upgrade the application only if you want to use some of the Silverlight 5 specific features.

We upgraded a fairly large application (4 separate projects) without problem - we only had to manually add a couple of references. Now waiting for the SL5 Telerik binaries :)

Hi,

Thanks for the answers. We are only looking to upgrade because there are one or two features in Silverlight 5 that we have been waiting for. It will allow us to remove some work around code. Though this is a fairly big project. 16 projects. 1.38 Million lines of code (C#, C++, Xaml) without comments and other nonsense. So making changes is actually the last thing I want to do, but is is required.

I think I will stick it out a little longer and see what happens when the Silverlight 5 native binaries come along. Then Ill hope for the best.

Thanks again

Louis

I've noticed a lot of problems from many controls when putting rad controls inside new Silverlight 5 OOB windows.  Those new detachable ones.  Will those new binaries fix this?

Hello,

We will do our best to include fixes for these in our upcoming native Silverlight 5 binaries (next week).

Kind regards,

I just upgraded my SL 4 to SL5 but all my telerik references are broken and when I try to add them again, they're not found
Do I have to install a Telerik SL 5 package? IF so where because I don't see it in YOUR ACCOUNT
