My company recently converted to telerik for our reports and one of our products that's used to create checks. We have seen two major issues that I'm baffled as to the cause or how to fix it.

1. We're experiencing an issue on one of our users using Windows 8. When she logs on to her particular windows logon and then to any user for our product her checks are shrinking on the page. Another user can log on that same computer and they don't see the issue(though if they log on to our product on the other user's window logon they do). All the fonts appear smaller and there's a great deal of white space on the right side. (It's not just adding extra white space with a normal sized check)

I attached what our user is seeing as well as what is the normal appearance(obviously very blurred out for security reasons).

2. We have a check made of the same detail section printed 4 times. When printing to a HP Laserjet 2430, each detail is shifting down slightly. I show a green box to show that it seems to be becoming diagonal which is especially odd.

Any ideas or insights into possible causes?

Hello Lori,

1. Most probably the DPI configuration for the specific user is different i.e., it has higher DPI than the default (100%) and this is the reason for the described shrinking.
You can change the DPI settings from the display control panel under “Appearance and Personalization”: screenshot.

2. We are unable to reproduce the described issue locally. Export the report to PDF/Image and check if the lines in the exported file are straight. If the lines in the PDF/Image are straight then this is most certainly a printer issue.

1. If that is indeed the case(which I will look into today), is there a way to stop a large dpi from shrinking the report? I have increased the dpi on my computer and confirmed that that does in fact shrink the reports. If this is not the issue, do you have any other ideas?

2. When they printed to a pdf, all looked normal. Telling them not to use that printer isn't going to go over well. Any ideas as to what on this printer could cause this problem? I read all the known issues for the printer in the manual I found online, and I didn't see anything.

Thank you so much for getting back to me!

Hello Lori,

1. You will need to use 100% DPI when rendering the reports. Otherwise, they will appear shrunk. This is a known issue with high DPI configurations.

2. Given the provided information it is either a printer driver issue or a printer hardware issue. You can call HP support for further insight.

Both issues are now fixed. Thank you so much for your help with this! It's a relief to have a few less random things on my "to fix list".
