Several questions on Custom Fields

    Custom fields are availabe in TeamPulse 2013, R2.
    I'd like to use them for extending the Bug item with some version information , indicating when the bug has been found and scheduled to be fixed.

    I have several general questions:
    1. Suppose I add a custom field to the Bug item in an ongoing project, that has already some 1000 bugs logged.
    What happens to the Bugs created before the existence of the Custom field? What value do they get for the new field?

    2. Will the new custom field behave in the same way as the TeamPulse pre-defined fields, that is: is the custom field a column that can be added/removed in the view? 

    3. How many custom fields can be added? Per Work item? Per project?

    Hi Miriam,

    I'm glad that you are interested in TeamPulse.

    1. About the first question, all values for the items created before the custom field will have NULL value in the database, so you will see them as blank values in the UI. When you open this items you will be able to see and edit the custom field.

    2. The custom fields behave exactly like the other fields in TeamPulse. You can edit them and you can add them as column in the grid view. You can also filter and sort by these fields.

    3. There is a limitation in the Microsoft SQL Server about the number of columns in one table. You can only create a table with maximum of 1024 columns and this is the maximum number of custom fields that you can add for the whole TeamPulse application.
