Hello,

I noticed that the radControls are available in SharePoint Designer as Server Controls, but when I add them to an aspx page, I receive the following error: "Error Rendering Control Designer creation failed for the control Parameter name: this."

Should I not be able to add controls directly from SharePoint Designer? Did I incorrectly run the install/setup for the radcontrols?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I had 2 different versions of the radControls installed on my server. Once I changed the @Register code to the correct version, the error message was removed and I was able to customize the control.

Additional Question: how to configure the datasource of the RadGrid to a SharePoint list?

Thanks!!

Hello Pablo,

I already responded to your second question in the support thread on the same topic. For the sake of other people that might stumble upon the same issue, I am quoting below the information provided in the ticket reply:

Binding the RadGrid control to a Sharepoint list is an unsupported scenario. If you insist on using RadGrid for that purpose you need to take the current/default View of the SP List, traverse its fields collection for the columns that are of interest to you, build a datatable or a collection of custom objects based on those fields and the data contained within and bind the datable/collection to the grid.

Hope it helps.

Best wishes,
