SelectionChanging event not firing when binding SelectedPageIndex

I noticed when I'm using (binding) the SelectedPageIndex property and I try to bind the SelectionChanging event to a command in the ViewModel it never fires. Is there any restriction to use both properties together or Are they mutually exclusive?

I've tried to reproduce the problem you report, but to no avail. You can check the attached sample project which illustrates my attempt. Please note that I am using our EventToCommandBehavior.
