We are using the RadPDFViewer from the Q3 2013 sp 2 release and it cannot seem to load PDF's that were scanned.  Looking around the web I've found that it might be an issue with the decoder but found that the scanned pdf's I've been working with use DCTDecode which Telerik list as fully supported (http://www.telerik.com/help/wpf/radpdfviewer-customize-pdf-rendering.html)

Would I have to create a custom filter for the pdf viewer or is there another reason behind this issue?

Thanks,
Kyle

Hi Kyle,

Thank you for contacting us.

Have you tried to open these documents in our online demo? If they cannot be opened there, we will really appreciate if you send them in order to further investigate the issue.

We are looking forward to your reply.

The PDF still does not load in the online demo.
These forums do not allow me to attach a PDF.  May be there is another way to send a PDF?

Hello Kyle,

Thank you for sending us the PDF document.

Opening the document with notepad I can see that there is invalid cross-reference table in it. On row number 2073 the start index of the table is 1 (instead of its correct zero value). Although Adobe Reader handles this kind of invalid documents, Telerik's PDF viewer does not display them. Changing the value of the start index from 1 to 0 fixes the issue and the modified document is opened successfully in PdfViewer.

I am attaching the modified version of the document with the described correction. I am also attaching a screenshot showing the difference between the two documents.

If you have further questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact us again.

Okay thanks a lot, I was able to change the value of the start in index and the PDF appears! I noticed that this issue occurs in all PDF's created by our scanner, so I'm now changing it through the code behind of our application.

Thanks for the help!
