Save/Load Layout Without DocumentHost

Is there currently any way to Save and Load the Layout and ignore the contents of the Document Host while doing so?

I only want to save the layout of the tool panes I've created. The fact that the save/load tries to deal with the open documents is causing my site all sorts of issues.

On this subject also, one of the things I wish the docking control did was instead of a Save layout there was a Get Layout, that simply just returned either an xml string or an XDocument so that it would be easy to manipulate this layout before saving it ourselves. Would've eliminated some headache in my current case.

Hello Ryan,

First of all thank you for your suggestion. We will consider extending the save/load infrastructure somehow, but this is not planned for the Q2 release.
Currently the Docking control doesn't support excluding elements from the Save/Load layout logic. What I would suggest is to either edit the XML after saving the layout (using XDocument for example) or to remove all the documents from the Docking control before saving the layout.
