Hi there,

I currently have an app that basically acts as an RSS reader for several feeds. One requirement is to save images from a photo RSS feed into the user's image library on their device. The image is an external URL (e.g. http://www.website.com/photo1.jpg) and I would like a link / button that says "Download" and for the photo to be saved.

I've seen the examples of taking a photo with the device's camera and saving it to the device, as well as the file transfer sample (http://docs.icenium.com/sample-apps/sample-file-transfer) but have not been able to piece together a working sample for what I need to do.

Can anyone assist or steer me in the right direction for this? Many thanks!

Hi Steve,

Well, I know that i am replying to a post which is way to old but actually we are stuck at the same point and desperately need help. We are making a trial catalog app where we want to provide a facility to the users to share the image on various social media as well as download a copy in their image gallery. We have got success in sharing but not in downloading. We tried Sample-file-transfer code, the image however gets saved in that app but not in ours. We tried to check the status in our console.log and it shows a weird file path. While the image never downloads. Also, while using the sample-file-transfer app, the image is not shown in gallery but only in file explorer, unless the user manually goes into the root path where the file is saved. Please help. Is there any simple plugin which saves the images directly in the public gallery?

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Ritesh
