Hi, I just started on AppBuilder and was trying the sample apps.

I clicked Build for Android and downloaded the apks to my phone (LG G2).

1. The installation of the apes was fast but the initial startup/config of the apps took a long time.
2. The apps also took a long time (about 10 seconds) to startup, particularly the Friends and Airlines sample app.

Please let me if the above are expected app loading times?
Thanks in advance for your kind reply on this matter.

Hello William,

You can change the build settings of your project to be Release instead of Debug, and you would not observe the "First Start" and it should be quicker.

Hello Steve, thanks for your quick headsup.

Please tell me the steps to change the project settings to release
as I did not see any icons or link that will do the above
I am using AppBuilder on Macbook/Safari.

what i had tried was to "publish" the Friends app.
it did not have a config state now
but the startup (showing the Telerik Appbuilder logo) still took about 10 seconds!
Is this normal?

Hello William,

Ten seconds is the default time for showing the Android splashscreen. If you do not wish to show a splashscreen, simply invoke

navigator.splashscreen.hide();

in the deviceready event of Cordova.
