Dear Telerik,

When I insert an appointment in the TimeLineView, the rowheight automatically expands (new RowHeight = old RowHeight + initial RowHeight I guess). Would it be possible to disable this, or to initially expand less than a full RowHeight, and only expand the rowheight to another full RowHeight when another appointment actually is inserted? The way it happens now, an unnecessary amount of space is being used, which results in me scrolling up and down my browserwindow while it should fit in one screen.

Hi,

Please, try setting <TimelineView ShowInsertArea="false" />.

Dear Peter,

No result? I still get the extra empty line underneath...

That's strange. Is the ShowInsertArea property recognized by the intellisense? If not, please make sure you are using the current official version 209.2.826.

Kind regards,

It is recognized by the intellisense: http://bart.nimio.info/images/fora/showinsertarea.JPG, and this is the result: http://bart.nimio.info/images/fora/resultinsertarea.JPG.

I'm using the Telerik.Web.UI_2009_2_1007_dev_hotfix

I just tested this version - 2009.2.1007 but it was fine regarding the ShowInsertArea property. Can you roll back to version 2008.2.826 and check if it makes a difference? Either way, please open a support ticket and send us a s simple demo of the problem.

Hi again,

I have upgraded the project to version 2009 Q3. The ShowInsertArea="false" still has no effect. The only thing I can see that's different between my project and projects in which the insert area does hide is the fact that I use clientside binding using webservices.
Maybe loading the appointments into the scheduler clientside is what's causing this problem?

You are right. The problem indeed appears in client binding mode. I have logged the issue and we will resolve it shortly. Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Any news on this issue yet? I have to deploy the application soon and want to have this fixed. If not, do you know of any work-around for this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hi again,

I really don't want to be a pain in the ***, but I have to ask again: Any ETA on a fix for this issue yet? I have tried the latest Service Pack, which did not solve it (it wasn't listed in the changelist either).
I have deployed my application now with this problem and (as expected) people are complaining about it. I hope I can offer them a fix soon.

I am really sorry for the delay about fixing this issue. The earliest that we can look into the problem is next week. Please, accept our sincere apologies once again.

Hello again,

To be honest, I'm getting a bit annoyed with this. I have just installed the latest version and still this issue has not been fixed.
My subscription is running out in little over a month and I'm really thinking about discontinuing it, since real issues are clearly not addressed properly, which makes me wonder what I'm paying for.

I hope you can understand my feelings at this moment. My customers have been complaining about this problem for quite some time now and they are getting really annoyed with this. All this annoyance is obviously directed at me, while there really isn't anything I can do about it, but hope that you find a solution soon. It's been over 3 months now.

Please contact me with a solution soon.

Hello,

Probably, we will not be able to fix this issue for the upcoming Q1 2010 release, but we will make sure it is resolved with the service pack that will follow.

All the best,

Hello,

Can someone please provide me with a status update for this issue? It's been about 6 months now since you acknowledged the bug, but it still hasn't been fixed. You've promised me to have it fixed in "the next service pack", "the next release", etc. on different occasions, but none of these promises have been kept.

Hello Datamex,

Please, accept our apologies for the delay. The issue is non-critical and we've delayed it for a few iterations. We'll increase its priority and we'll do our best to come up with a fix by the end of next week.
