Hi ,

 This is charles ..

While i was trying automate my application .. ' Right Click ' is not working in the recording surface.
But when i tried recording from the external browser ,its working fine..

How can i achieve the right click option in the recording surface??
Can i append the recorded steps  from the external browser to my surface recorded steps ??

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Charles,

The embedded Visual Studio Recording Window does not repond to user right clicks. As you mentioned, the external Recording Window does respond to right clicks and it seems that the menu you describe does appear.

To invoke a right click on an element in either the embedded or external recorder, enable highlighting and right click on the element. Then in the context menu, choose 'Desktop Actions' -> 'Right Click' -> 'Specific Point'. You can then mouse hover over the element and a crosshairs should appear where you can specifiy where the right click will happen on the element.

After intiating the right click as above, in the external recording browser you can do an actual right click, have the menu you want to record over appear, then continue recording steps over it.

But is the Recording Toolbar showing up as seen in this video (contains one green, one red, and another button to the far right)? If not, please follow these videos for configuring XP, Vista, or Server 03/08.

If the ToolBar is showing up and you are still not able to record over the menu, could you please give us more details on the context menu, perhaps sample code or and an example online?

All the best,

Hello again Charles,

I'm glad to hear you got the right click to work and menu to appear. So was the context menu a Rad Context Menu like this demo? Or was it some other type of menu generated in another way?

If it is not a Rad Menu, could you please provide either a code example of how the menu is generated or a public page online with the menu which we can try to test against?

Sincerely yours,
Nelson
