I’m currently working on a complex web part, which requires a rich text editor with options to upload images and documents.

I have downloaded your SharePoint Acceleration Kit and I can see it offers a rich text editor, which can be used as a replacement of a default rich text editor in SharePoint forms.

However I need to use it in a custom web part – is that possible?

Hello,

When It comes to SharePoint 2010, we always recommend using of the specially designed RadEditor for SP2010. What you need to do is install RadControls for SP2010 (review this article http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/moss-installing_radeditor__radgrid_web_parts_on_sharepoint_2010.html ). Then you can use the SPRadEditor class, which is defined in the Telerik.SharePoint name space of the RadEditorSharePoint assembly. RadEditor for SharePoint is based on the regular RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX, but it is customized to better fit in this environment.

Hello
Thanks for your answer.

EDIT: Is that available to download as a trial version? I can't find it anywhere.

Hi Michal ,

I created a small video where you can see how to download the trial version.

You can also follow the following link: http://www.telerik.com/account/your-products/trial-product-versions/download-trial-file.aspx?fileid=12510&pid=0&dispkey=True

I just bought the Premium Collection for .NET and am experiencing an issue with versions of the DLLs.
I downloaded the RadEditor for MOSS 2007 and included the two DLLs (which I took from the wsp file) in my project:
- Telerik.Web.UI.dll
- RadEditorSharePoint.dll
but they have different (earlier) versions than the trial version ones, which I used for testing:
- RadEditorSharePoint.dll has a version 5.8.15.0 (the trial version one was 6.3.1.0) and doesn't seem to have the Telerik.SharePoint.SPRadEditor class.
- Telerik.Web.UI.dll version is 2012.1.411.20, but that's probably fine (the one in the trial version was 2012.1.411.35).
