Hello guys,

After some problems with the upgrade from radeditor 4.4 to 5.7.1, the editor is finally in place and the reusable content is working.(it can update the content automatically). But I've encountrered with another issue now.
I've a site, which requieres authentication and in it, the reusable content seems to work fine. But in the extended site which allow anonymous access, the reusable content is not visible. This issue could be reproduced in both live and test environment, but not in the development environment.

The reusable content is approved, the NT AUTHORITY\authenticated users has read access to it. But the reusable content is still not visible for the visitors in the extended site. What could I possible be missing? Server configuration? Some other permisson for the visitors? Or is it a bug?

Best regards, Daniel

Hello Daniel,

Could you please provide me with a couple of screen shots where I can actually see the problem. One with visible reusable content and one with not visible (if you think that more images will illustrate the issue better send them as well). Also provide me the web.config file of your MOSS site and the ToolsFile.xml, ListToolsFile.xml, ConfigFile.xml, ListConfigFile.xml, which are located in the /Program Files/Common Files/Microsoft Shared/webserver extensions/wpresources/RadEditorSharePoint/5.x.x.0__1f131a624888eeed/Resources/ folder? I will use them in order to try reproducing the issue on our test server and advise you further.

http://rapidshare.com/files/435899557/rs-issue.zip
Wokring picture has the text 1111 followed by the reusable content "HE-post:info..."(uses credentials to see the page, uses a different url that starts with dev)
Not-working picture has the text 1111, but not text "HE-post"(public site=> anonymous visitor, uses a different url that starts with www)

Best regards, Daniel

Hi Daniel Rojas,

Could you check if you experience the same problem with the original OOB SharePoint editor? In order to do this disable the Use RadEditor to edit HTML fields feature. Also this week we will release a new version of RadEditor for MOSS, which will include a fix regarding the reusable content in WCM scenario. You can try upgrading to the new version of the control.

Hello again and thanks for your response.

I followed your advise and I noticed that the problem persisted. But I was able to narrow the problem down to a permission issue.
It seems that the anonymous user is not allowed to see the Resuable content list, and because of that the vistor cannot see the reusable content.(if I turn the anonymous user off, and logon then the reusable content works)
The anoynmous user is supposed to be able to see the "whole" site and the anoymous user can also see the content in other list such as Site Images.
But when it comes to the reusable content, it doesn't work. I've tried to compare the permissions in both list, but I cant see any difference. It feels almost as is the "Reusable content" has been blocked in some other place.

I'm aware that this not longer is an Rad editor problem, but I would appreciate if you had any hints och tips in how to proceed.

Best regards, Daniel

Hello Daniel Rojas,

In order to use correctly the reusable content feature you need to be running MOSS with access to the top level of the Site Collection and Contributor permissions.

Unfortunately I was not able to find an article where is given solution to your problem. You can ask your question in a SharePoint related forum such as http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointgeneral/threads
