Report Designer in Visual Studio preview not working with SqlDataSource

I have just recently installed Telerik (10.0.16.2004) reporting running within visual stuido 2015.  

In the report designer I can draw any static controls such as a textbox and the report preview works fine, but the second I add a SqlDatasource to the project, the previewer quits working.  The datasource is correctly configured and returns data in the setup.

Hello Mike,

We will need more details. Please post the following details:

1. The SqlDataSource settings from the report's code, including the used SQL query;
2. The error received on preview, including a screenshot illustrating in which preview (design-time or in a viewer) the error occurs;
3. Which Report Designer is in use.

You can also compare your settings with these of the local examples installed by default under C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\Reporting Q1 2016\Examples.
