You can delete Android splash screen right now in Icenium Graphite IDE. Go to your project Properties section Android > Splash Screen and there hover over the splash screen image to reveal small delete (x) icon on top right corner.

How does one accomplish this using Icenium Mist?

Hi Ryan,
Currently it is not possible to delete the spash screen from Mist, we're aware of this short cumming and would address it for subsequent release. For the time being the only possible approach is to use Graphite.
Sorry for the temporary inconvenience.
Kind regards,
Steve

Hi thanks for the response. So I was able to remove the splash screen using Graphite. Now I notice, without a splash screen, that my app takes quite some time for the links to become responsive when the app is loaded for the first time. Do you know why this is or what I could try? I'm thinking that the app is still expecting the splash screen to be displayed for some period of time.

Hi Ryan,
This is a known problem that we would fix in the upcoming 1.3 release of Icenium scheduled for next week.
Please excuse us for the temporary inconvenience.

Hello Ali,
At this point, you can only remove your Android splash screen. To achieve this task, in the Project Navigator (or the Solution Explorer, if you are using our extension for Visual Studio), double-click Properties. Select the Android tab. If needed, expand the Splash Screen section. Hover over the image - you should see an X at the top right corner. Click it to delete your Android splash screen.

hi.... i tried doing that but then the black screen appears instead of splash screen...is there any way I can delete the splash screen for the app to open up the first page directly, once the user has opened the app? Please advise...

Hello Ritesh,
Mobile apps, as any other app, need time to load before they are ready to use. During this time, the apps display a blank screen. That is why the splash screen is used, to display a more user friendly image that indicates the app is starting up. If you remove the splash screen while the app is still loading, seeing a blank screen is expected. That's why it is recommended to hide the splash screen in the deviceready event of the app, when everything is loaded and ready to use.
