I am extremely frustrated with scheduling tests. This morning, I scheduled a simple test to run every 2 minutes, in Chrome for 5 occurrences. The scheduler showed 5 tests, which is what I expected. After 3 runs, Test Studio crashed. I relaunched and the 5 scheduled tests appeared in my scheduler again and all failed. Why would they appear again? What am I missing with this feature?

1. Why can't I schedule one test to run 5 times in a row without having to pick the minutes? Each test may take longer than the test before. i.e. waiting for the site to respond, pages to render, etc.

2. If I'm running a scheduled test with recurrences and I see that test 3 failed, how do I abort the rest of the test series? If test 3 fails, I know that the remaining two will fail also.

I'm on test studio version: 2016.1

Hello Misty,

I have reviewed the crash reports, but I cannot find any crash from your account. Is the crash repeating or this happened only once? We need to locate the crash first. Try clearing the application log, reproduce the crash and provide us with the newly generated application log.

1. If you would like to run a test 5 times in a row, you can add the test as test as step and use the loop functionality to run it as many times you want.

2. Unfortunately you cannot abort scheduled execution.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you. I will try to recreate the crash and reply back with the log. I'll also give the test step with a loop a try.

Ivaylo,

I've been unable to reproduce this issue thus far. Maybe it was something on my end. If the problem comes up again, I'll reopen the post.

Thanks,

Misty
