RadSplitButton - Disable button but leave drop down enabled?

Is it possible to leave the drop-down portion enabled while disabling the button portion?
(and if no... why not? :))

 Yes, you can handle the DropDownOpened and DropDownClosed events of the RadDropDownButton and respectively disable or enable it. Could you please examine the attached project and if you have further questions fee free to ask?
