RadScriptManager Not Minified when Debug = False

I have noticed that when using the radScriptManager the asp.net Ajax javascript is not being sent down in the minified format when the debug value is set to false in the web config.  When using the asp script manager, the ajax javascript is sent down minified in this situation.  Is this by design, or is there a property that may enable this?

The Microsoft portion of the javascript is in minified format.  The Telerik portion is minified as well, however new line characters remain in the code.  I have seen around 6 to 8 percent improvement in file size when running through jsMin.
