Telerik RadMenu seems not supported in IE 10, we have telerik dll version 2010.3.1317.20
We have sub menus which are not getting open when hover over the menus. Even main menus not getting open automatically when hover, it needs to keep on moving the cursor on the menu, then only it gets open automatically.
This issue occured only in IE 10. It works correctly on all the other versions of browser.

Here is a link to replicate the issue when open in IE 10
http://www.exair.com
On the top nav menu bar, go to "Buy Now" menu, it has other sub menus, which are not open at all. If you open the same link in other version, it works well.

Please let me know how do I resolve this issue.

Hello Nelson,

By using the 2010.3.1317.20 version of the RadControls it is expected that you get the behavior that you describe since IE10 is not supported in old version of the controls. To get full advantage of using the RadControls in IE10 I would suggest that you get the latest version of the RadControls and use it instead of the 2010.3.1317.20 version.

Hi Nelson,

I would suggest that you use the very latest version of the RadControls - Q2 2013 - that is fully compatible with IE10 browser and can also be used in 3.5 .NET Framework.

Hi, Thanks for your reply.
We are using only RadMenu control of version 2010.3.1317.20 which is now not compatible on IE 10. For RadMenu control to work in our application, we have just using two dll's (Telerik.Web.UI.dll and Telerik.Web.Design.dll)
The link you have given is for all RADControls version 2013.2.611 which is available for 30 days trial period.

So for my case, I just wanted to know, is this posible only to upgrade RadMenu control on our machine?
If not then do I need to install whole setup for RADControls version 2013.2.611 which is available for 30 days trial period and then check for RadMenu control to be working with IE 10 in 3.5 framework environment?
Will this affect the current working of RadMenu control with other lower version of IE?

Nelson

Hello Nelson,

Our Rad Controls are not offered separately. We offer them in packages because all of the individual controls share common frameworks/resources in their respective product suite (RadControls for ASP.NET Ajax in your case). That is one of the key reasons why separation is not possible and we package all 70+ controls together. So, if you would like to use the RadMenu component, you will have to install the entire setup for the RadControls version 2013.2.611. Considering the effect on any version below IE10, the RadControls are developed in a way to be fully compatible with any lower version as well and therefore you should not experience any issues when using the RadMenu in EI9, IE8 or IE7.

Hi,
I downloaded and installed the trail version of latest telerik control. I have then replaced the following files in the bin folder of our web application as we were refering files of older telerik version.

Telerik.Web.UI.dll

Telerik.Web.UI.Skins.dll

Telerik.Web.UI.xml

but I was getting exception as attached while accessing pages from our site. To solve this exception, I have changed the trust level to Full in web.config file and it solve the problem. I can now access the web pages from our site with latest version of telerik menu control.

But what I want to know is when older version of Telerik control was running when trust level was "minimul" in web config, why the latest telerik version needs trust level to "Full"?   <trust level="Full" originUrl=""/>

We are not interested to keep trust level to "Full". Have I done anything wrong while installing the latest telerik version?
Please let me know if you need any further information. Thanks.

Hello Nelson,

Thank you for letting us know that you could resolve the issue.

Considering your question we are currently not aware of such an issue when upgrading between the version of the Telerik RadControls. However, I looked up on the internet and it seems that the exception that you describe is a very generic one. Please refer to the following forum post where you can find more detailed information on your specific scenario - System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed
