Any plans to port the RadMap for silverlight to WinMoPho7? Because we use a different provider than Bing and it would be a big help if it was going across.

Hello simeon,
Thank you for your interest in Rad Controls for Windows Phone 7.
RadMap is in our long term plans, but with lower priority compared with the data controls and the charting. So it will not be available in the first official release.
I can't commit to any specific date yet. That said - if there is a demand for it - it will definitely go upper in the list.
Sincerely yours,

I also vote for this because bing is not really useable.
What I'm talking about is not functionality - I talk about licensing (by the way just discussing with MS about it),
On the iPhone you have a mapview - and no license needs - on WP7 is bing which allows you to have 50.000 transactions a year.
-- I'm not even talking about other restrictions.
500.000 (500K) sounds much - from a first point of view.
...DELETED
So (at least from my point of view) there is a strong need to have "open maps" or something else.
MS (of course) will not provide such a control - so telerik is "the last hope"
Therefore a strong vote to have a map-control.
Manfred
EDITED: just found that there is another agreement for mobile which has no transaction limit (if I understand it correct)
but there are still other limitations - so the "need" (whish) to use another provider is still there

Hello Manfred,
Thanks for your input - we have the needed functionality for custom maps in RadMap for Silverlight. We need to see how to bring the map to the phone in the best way in terms of performance and memory usage. For the moment this control is postponed for scheduling after Q1.2011.
All the best,

Hello, I'm using the Silverlight control is RadContros RadMap, I'm using the example, but when you open the screen is not showing the map in the background, shows no more map layers.

Hi Edson,
Thanks for your question.
Are you using the control is a Windows Phone application? Or your application is a standard Silverlight one?
I am looking forward to your reply.
